The AI Applied Edge Training Program: From AI Awareness to Adoption is a program customized for your organization. Through hands-on training, businesses, nonprofits, and Indigenous organizations learn to build AI skills, streamline processes, and apply Generative AI tools like ChatGPT directly to their work. Four progressive workshops guide participants from awareness to adoption, ending with applied learning in real workflows and the creation of an AI Community of Practice.

During the Applied AI Edge Training Program’s progressive workshops, participants learn how to:
Build AI literacy and confidence with everyday tools

The program emphasizes applied learning, direct workplace integration, and measurable outcomes. The program is designed to meet the immediate needs of small and medium-sized businesses, nonprofits, and Indigenous organizations in British Columbia. These organizations often face limited resources, competitive pressures, and rapid technological change. While AI adoption remains low, demand for AI skills, digital fluency, and productivity improvements is growing.
This program directly addresses that gap by equipping participants with practical, job-ready skills in Generative AI. Through progressive, hands-on workshops, participants learn to apply tools such as ChatGPT and others to real workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and strengthen decision-making. Training emphasizes practical application over theory, ensuring participants can immediately reduce manual work, improve efficiency, and prepare their organizations for AI adoption.
A key feature is the creation of an internal AI Community of Practice (AI CoP). This ensures AI literacy develops into long-term organizational capability rather than remaining a one-time training event. The Community provides a structured space for employees to share experiences, test tools, exchange best practices, and address challenges together, building organizational resilience and accelerating responsible adoption.

Summary of the Program
The program consists of four progressive workshops, each building upon the last:
Workshop 1: AI Applied Edge: Foundations
Introduces core AI concepts, including data privacy and effective prompting.
Applies AI to practical use cases such as reducing manual tasks, drafting documents, and automating communication.
Builds baseline AI literacy and a confident AI adoption mindset.
Workshop 2: AI Applied Edge: Advanced
Expands skills into advanced features of Generative AI tools.
Guides participants in designing AI-driven workflows that automate up to 10% of daily work.
Enables teams to achieve measurable time savings and create repeatable use cases tailored to operations.
Workshop 3: AI Applied Edge: Operational Processes
Provides a structured framework for mapping and analyzing workflows at the role and team level.
Equips participants to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
Supports informed decision-making on when to optimize processes, adopt AI tools, or introduce other technologies.
Workshop 4: AI Applied: Integration & Adoption
Department-specific sessions that integrate learnings from the first three workshops into real workflows.
Facilitator led: hands-on problem-solving in each department (e.g. marketing, HR, finance, customer service, or operations).
Provides participants with applied learning support as they navigate integration and adoption
Builds the internal AI Community of Practice (AI CoP)
Each organization receives a customized ROI calculator snapshot, which quantifies the annual efficiency gains and cost savings based on the team’s actual workload. This tool demonstrates the tangible business value of training investment and supports long-term decision-making around AI adoption.
Certificate of Completion: Once finished, a certification of completion for each participate will be provided and feedback report will be created for the employer.

Program Details and Rates
Time Frame: 4 months
Duration:
Workshops 1–3: 4 hours each (12 hours total)
Workshop 4: 11 hours per participant
Total Participant Commitment: 23 hours
Delivery: Virtual (online) or in-person formats availableParticipants: Up to 25 employees per cohort
Investment per Participant: $2,999 + GST = $3148.95

Note: As a B.C.-based program, employers may be eligible for the B.C. Employer Training Grant (ETG), which reimburses up to 80% of eligible training costs to a maximum of $10,000 per participant.
