Principal, Hufnagel Consulting

AI Educator, Lead Facilitator & AI Readiness Specialist

Born and raised in a charming fishing village off the northern coast of Vancouver Island called Sointula (on Malcolm Island), I developed a deep appreciation for hard work, creativity, innovation, and the importance of working together, building relationships, and community. I am propelled by SISU, embodying relentless determination, passion, and the Finnish ethos of grit, perseverance, and tenacity. This spirit enables me to execute tasks efficiently, overcome obstacles, and consistently deliver results, always getting “sh*t” done. I have the unique ability not only to envision solutions but also to roll up my sleeves and implement them.

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” - Helen Keller

My journey from this serene backdrop to the bustling world of business is one of continuous evolution and continuous pursuit of learning and personal growth.

Armed with a Business Degree in Entrepreneurship from the University of Victoria, my early career began in the intriguing realm of software. I dove into its complexities as a business analyst during the “early days” of technology when the majority of software was built “in-house”. I learned the importance of truly spending time understanding your customer’s needs. This rich experience laid the foundation, and importance of, always engaging your end-users, especially the frontline, and spending time with them before building systems, processes or training.

With over 20+ years of multifaceted experience, I am now a seasoned consultant specializing in business analysis, process improvement, operations support, helping businesses pursue software/digital transformation, corporate training and instructional design.

I have dedicated my career to serving 1000’s of businesses in various capacities across a wide range of industry sectors, from franchising, professional services, software, government, high tech, to education, with prominent roles in both the public and private sectors, as well as non-profit organizations.

Having had the privilege of working with some amazing companies and brands, the most notable include: 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, Men in Kilts, The 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Hootsuite, QuickMobile (CVent), BC Ferries Corporation, FrogBox, Vancouver Island University, Visa, KPMG, Walmart, and Whirlpool, I've engaged directly with everyone from front-line employees to the C-suite.

I became an AI Enthusiast in late 2022 and was Certified as FutureLab AI Mastermind Trainer in 2024. To date I have delivered AI Training to 3000+ participants locally and globally.

My professional approach is anchored by deeply ingrained values: Authenticity, Integrity, Service, Impact, Community, and Creation.

In 2015, I made the decision to move back to Vancouver Island and now call Nanoose Bay my home. Amid the hustle of the corporate world, I find solace and rejuvenation in nature. When the screens dim and the meetings conclude, you'll often find me cold dipping in the ocean, foraging in the forest or along the seashore, relishing moments on the water, hiking the beautiful trails, playing badminton, tending to my garden, or canning/cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Committed to giving back to my community, I also serve as a board director for a local charity focused on food security, education, and programming.

This balance between the world of business, community, and nature keeps me grounded, inspired, and ever-ready to help you unleash your business's true potential and efficiencies.
